"The V" Difference

Thank you again for stopping by! In the world of business, they say talk is cheap. Well, look around you. In the past couple of years, far too many business have been doing nothing but talking. At The V, we let our actions speak for us. We say we're different -- And we are.

Okay, so what differentiates you?

Tons of things! Many PC repair shops charge a flat rate and an hourly rate for services both on-site and off. We charge a flat rate for every service while off-site, and a very reasonable hourly on-site charge.

Equally, many PC shops write their list of services with very specific loopholes. Many of the services they offer are the same things, just written a different way. Therefore, they can feasibly change you multiple times for the same service. At The V, we have no hidden fees, every service is individually and specifically spelled out.

Most all PC shops also don't do nearly enough testing to ensure that you get your PC back in perfect working order. Every PC that comes through The V will be properly scanned and stress tested to make sure you're getting a working computer back.

With our PC Tune-up service, unlike most PC repair companies that remove viruses and spyware while working on the infected computer, we extract the hard drive and hook it up externally to our diagnostic computer. This provides for a much more thurough and faster cleaning.

Many end-users don't understand what they're doing with their computers that open them to being attacked and/or experiencing hardware issues. At The V, we ask whether or not you'd like our advice on how to better take care of your computer so you're not coming back on a regular basis. If we can get our customers to understand what they're doing wrong and how to fix it, it'd be like Christmas 365 days a year!

That is a bit different. What about the services? How do you do a better job?

One of the unfortunately common misconceptions of Windows PC's is that as long as you have an anti-virus program installed, you won't get any viruses.

That is completely false. Every anti-virus program, every anti-spyware program, every registry cleaning program will catch different problems.

We use several programs on every PC Tune-Up(see services for description) to ensure that your PC is going to be properly cleaned.

With all our other services, we use programs, utilities, and methods that we test on a regular basis to ensure they remain reliable and efficient.

So you can work on them, awesome. What about building them?

We take the most personal approach to building PC's that you will ever find. We interview the customers, price out a PC to their specs, build it, install all the programs they want, and even hook it up for them if they need us to!

For more info, check out the Custom PC's section!

I have a son interested in gaming. What could you do for that?

We know what graphics cards are the best and most efficient, as well as which high-end hardware parts perform the best in relationship to all peripherals of the PC. We can design and install fully customized water cooling systems and other upgraded cooling solutions! If you're interested in a certain type of game and would like some tips and tricks, we do offer tutoring for all types of things!

Wow, that's deep.

Indeed it is.

What about websites? Your site is pretty spiffy, I want a cool site for myself.

I work with an independent contractor that is one of the most spectacular website coders I've ever seen. He did an awesome job on my site, didn't he? Pretty spiffy for sure.

One of my services, as listed in the Services section, is consultation for websites. My contractor and I work together on every site built. He's the coding whiz, my job is to interview and understand what the customer wants and to help ease the communication between the coder and the customer. This helps make the best website you could ever ask for!

You'd been referring to the company as "we." Why the change to "I?"

I, Philip, am the owner and only employee. The reason I refer to The V as "we" and "us" is because this company is the customers, and the customers are the company. Literally, I seek to build friendships and close relationships, not customers. Computers should be personal, and so should the relationship between your best PC help and yourself!
